Draft Night for Rec Leagues (Snake, Clock, and Less Chaos)

Draft night is fun until the pick order argument starts. Here is a calmer setup.

Rec league drafts are social events — but they go sideways when pick order, keepers, and “who’s left?” are tracked on napkins.

Snake vs linear — pick once, publish the rule

Post your format before captains arrive. Snake balances talent; linear is faster for smaller pools. The software should enforce order so you are not the referee and the commissioner.

Visible clock, visible pool

Pick timers keep the room moving. Captains see available players on a shared view instead of shouting names over each other.

Undo the honest mistake

Someone double-taps the wrong player? Commissioners need a safe undo — not a twenty-minute reset.

After the draft, rosters should appear on public team pages automatically. Preview team layouts on the demo: demo Teams.

Start your league and schedule a draft night from the dashboard when your player pool is ready.
